This is the list of rules you must follow at all times. Failure to follow these rules will result in a punishment at the staff’s discretion. If you wish to report another player for breaking the rules, please post a thread in the “Player Reports” section of our forums, or message a staff member. We will not process any form of punishment without valid proof such as logs, screenshots, or videos. You can type /rules in-game for a shorter version of these rules, or ask a staff member for more information. The staff reserve the right to change the rules at any time.
Rule 1 - No hacking, cheating, exploiting, or glitching
No cheating of any kind will be allowed on the server. This includes any hacked clients such as x-ray or click aimbot, x-ray texture packs, as well as macros that give players an unfair advantage.
Do not abuse any bugs, exploit the server’s features or duplicate items for personal gain in any way that can be considered unfair or unjust. Abuse of this kind may result in a balance reset.
Only three accounts may be used per IP. Contact an administrator to look into the situation if you have more than three players in your household.
Usage of VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) will result in an immediate and permanent account ban.
Rule 2 - No AFK pools or auto-farms
Do not construct an “AFK pool”, or use any similar methods to bypass the server’s away-from-keyboard kick timer. Use AFK pool at /warp AFK (if any)
Do not construct any automatic farms. Auto-farms are any build that allows users to collect items or profit while doing no work or being away-from-keyboard. They include, but are not limited to, automatic mob grinders, automatically harvesting cactus farms, observer-block based farms, and any other device used to make money without activity.
Exceptions to this rule are auto-smelters, which use hoppers to continually smelt items added to a source container, and egg farms, as long as there is only two chickens or less per hopper at all times.
Any farm that is semi-automatic, or requiring only a single action to profit, is legal. Examples of this include pushing a button to harvest crops, setting up a mob spawner to deal damage (if and only if you provide the final hit for each mob), and other similar contraptions. Ask a staff member if you are unsure whether a device is legal or not.
Do not construct any device for the sole purpose of causing continual lag using large quantities of redstone.
Rule 3 - No advertising
Do not mention, or attempt to bypass mentioning, the name of any server other than MasterNetwork. Do not try to bring other players to a different Minecraft server in any way.
Do not mention the IP, or attempt to bypass mentioning the IP, of any server other than MasterNetwork. The staff takes this offense very seriously.
Do not try to advertise any social media account in an attempt to gain a following. Other links may be sent between friends with permission from the staff.
Rule 4 - No spamming, begging, or causing drama
Do not spam in any chat channel. Repeating the same or similar messages multiple times, repeating the same character in a way that is distracting, and chatting outside of direct interpersonal messaging with a large portion of capital letters are all not allowed.
Keep the chat appropriate for all age levels. Do not enter filtered profanity excessively, and do not bypass the chat filter with inappropriate words outside of messaging.
Do not spam multiple auctions with renamed items that have little value. Please wait at least ten minutes between these type of auctions. Also, do not spam auction bids with the intention of being distracting.
Do not ask or beg other players to be given money, donations, or in-game items for free.
Do not spam market or transaction advertisements; please wait ten minutes between ad messages.
Only communicate using the English language in the global chat channel. Other languages are hard to moderate and can eventually be considered spam. We ask that you use the message feature when communicating in non-english languages.
Do not bring up or discuss politics, religion, or other controversial topics outside of messaging. Topics like these bring unnecessary tension and drama to the server.
Do not start personal arguments or create intentional drama between players. The staff has the right to mute those who they consider being “toxic”.
Do not use an inappropriate, offensive, or derogatory username, skin, prefix, or nickname. Those who join the server with an offensive username will be muted until their name is changed to something appropriate. You should also not create inappropriate builds, signs, or town and nation names that fall under the inappropriate topics listed above.
Do not conduct unofficial gambling halls without clearly stating the odds of winning via a signpost nearby. If requested by a staff member, you are obligated to show a test run with no risk nor reward of the casino game.
Do not bring up drug references in any way.
Rule 5 - No griefing or stealing
Do not break, place, or set fire to blocks that you do not own inside your town without permission from the plot owner. You must also have permission from the plot’s owner to use another’s farm.
Do not kill another player’s mobs, including mobs spawned by a spawner block, without their permission.
Do not steal items from others without their permission. If a player drops an item by accident and you pick it up, you must return the item upon request.
Do not grief buildings/farms/structures that do not belong to you.
Do not steal from chests/furnaces that do not belong to you.
Do not intentionally inconvenience the expansion of a town by building or breaking within 20 blocks of any claim in the towny world. For example, do not excavate large pits nor build walls around a claim to halter their progress.
Punishments will vary from the amount griefed. Not all punishments will be the same.
Rule 6 - No player disrespect
Do not disrespect or harass any player or staff member. We do not tolerate this behavior - MasterNetwork should be kept a safe environment. Message a staff member if you are being harassed, or report on the forums via ‘Player Reports.”
Do not, in any way, threaten the server or other players. This includes death threats, threats of violence, and threats of and/or carrying out a DDOS attack.
Rule 7 - No scamming
Do not scam other players for money, items, donations, land, or services. Broadly, a scam is considered any dishonest scheme.
If you come to an agreement with another player, you must follow through with that agreement within the designated time frame. Be clear in your business-related interactions, as well as take videos and screenshots of these interactions and transactions, to avoid any possible issues.
Do not rename items in auctions with intent to deceive.
Do not take advantage of another player’s lack of knowledge in any way for personal gain.
Rule 8 - No wrongful killing
Do not kill another player after teleporting or warping to them.
Do not kill another player on or near their own property.
Do not create a “death trap”, or any similar contraption designed to kill another player.
Rule 9 - No abusing donations
Do not abuse /fix by fixing the equipment of a player without access to the /fix command.
Do not impersonate a staff member or another player using /nick or /prefix without their permission.
Do not chargeback donations sent to the server in any way. All chargebacks will result in an instant IP ban, with no ability to appeal. Any issues regarding donations can instead be sent to the staff via a support ticket.
Do not attempt to transfer in-game items for real-life currency of any sort. Violation of this will result in a ban.
Rule 10 - Respect town rights
Do not claim a chunk of land within 100 blocks of another town’s claim. In the event of a dispute due to a violation of this rule, the two town mayors may either come to an agreement, or the rule-breaker will be forced to remove the disputed claim(s) and anything on it.
Do not remain on someone else’s private land if they have asked you to leave the premises.
As a mayor, do not scam residents for items, services, or money. The property of a resident is not necessarily the property of the mayor.
A mayor may post a set of their own town rules, as long as they do not conflict with the server rules.
Residents who have been inactive for seven days or more may have their locked items such as chests and furnaces removed by a S-Mod+.
Mayors who have been inactive for twenty days may have their town ownership claimed by the co-mayor with help from an Admin. If there is no co-mayor, a town assistant may claim ownership.
Rule 11 - Respect punishment decisions
Do not evade the mutes, bans, and jails of your account. You cannot speak to others using books or signs in-game if muted, and you cannot log on to different accounts for the purpose of evading any of these three punishments.
Do not argue with a staff member’s decision in-game. If you feel a staff member is abusing their power, or not acting within their rights, private message an admin on the forums. If not, you can instead politely converse with that staff member over the forum’s message system.
Those who are punished for breaking rules a total of ten times will be permanently banned. This decision may be appealed, depending on the situation.
Thank you for reading the server rules. These are written for the sole purpose of insuring that you, as a player, have the best possible experience on MasterNetwork. If you are unsatisfied with a rule or think one should be changed or added, you are encouraged to post a suggestion on the forums.
